 The Connecticut Workforce Collaborative on Behavioral Health and the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services co-sponsored a consultation November 16th by Dean Fixsen, Ph.D. on “Implementing Best Practices Successfully.”

Dr. Fixsen, Co-Director and Founding Member of the National Implementation Research Network, is a Research Professor at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.  An internationally known consultant in implementation science, Dr. Fixsen led a discussion with 35 participants representing 18 state and private non-profit agencies involved in the federally-funded five year Connecticut Mental Health Transformation State Incentive Grant.

The interactive consultation included an overview of implementation science concepts, presentation and discussion of a Connecticut implementation experience, followed by discussion and consultation regarding implementation of three Connecticut workforce initiatives.
